So yeah, this isn't surprising...

Just wonder what they will call it...Halo: Combat Evolved: Evolved?

Well, it's hardly new...but yeah, I'm still not sure this is necessary...

Eh, didn't they also release this on Xbox Classics digital downloads not to long ago? If this is a true, true, true "remake" with HD, solid frame rate, more enemies, better enviroments, the pistol and an online component I can hardly fault it as long as it isn't 30 bucks.

I give sony credit for issuing HD versions of Ico and Shadow of the Collosus....why not this?

Should You Buy Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary ? No.

The opinion of avid Halo players.

I'll still buy it, but I can't fault anyone saying not too based on the comment that you've already played this game.

Of course you've already played this game. That goes without saying.

I never played it! That was in my "I'm-having-kids-and-serious-about-my-job" phase. Thank god that's over with! ;)

lol

I meant that as in "hey, we've asked an panel of Halo enthusiasts what they think about this game" and everyone responds "I've already played it!"

I would hope so.

The people who played Shadow of the Colossus the first time around all recommended the Team ICO HD Collection.

Same with Metal Gear Solid and God of War.

Just saying.

This might be the first HD Remake / Remaster where Kotaku has said "stay away."

Right, but of the three they asked, two said no...one because there wasn't enough to justify the money (fine) and another who said he didn't want to "sully the memory of Halo with this gussied up version"...whatever the fuck that means.

Go ahead and think that if you want. I have absolutely no problem with someone saying don't buy it on the grounds that there isn't enough content. I don't understand recommending people not buy it on the grounds that it would ruin their memories of the original.

First game to be "remade" was Super Mario Bros. in Super Mario Bros. All-Stars
Then there was the remake of Tomb Raider a few years back

An argument could be made that damn near every Mario and Zelda game ever made was a remake...at least in the traditional sense of the term...

...not that there is anything wrong with that.
