Have wanted to get a ps3 for a couple years but didn't want to get one if the 4 was around the corner ..so I see now the ps4 is coming out this summer...can't find anything that has a price ...anyone know if it will be 3-5 hundo. Or something ridiculous like 1k?

Somebody I work with was telling me that you may want to wait, because after the first shipment comes out, it could have problems and after that maybe the time to get one, so everythings fixed.

Probably the old RRoD type stuff in XBOX. Wait anyway, it's not like they'll immediately stop making quality games for the old systems. Sure the graphics won't be as good, but if you cared about graphics that much you'd be playing PC games.

Kinda like Kdiddit said, and also if people are expiriencing glitches with the system, then they get fixed and should be better.

Isnt it pretty much a rule of thumb that any electronic device will be better 6 months after it comes out? Because almost everything will have some sort of bugs issues right?

I will just wait til next summer then....any chance of the ps3 price getting real low on system n games soon?

I'll probably hold off till they get the bugs worked out, but the inclusion of Diablo3 and Infamous in the launch lineup might make that tough to do.

What is the difference between 3 and 4 for a casual gamer who uses it for streaming, gaming, and music storage?

I am officially boycotting this and any/all video game related posts until the prodigal son, imu17, returns home to roost.

it's just not the same without some hot hatches opening up to reveal a wonderland of video game knowledge/perspective/wit/candor that only a board legend like imu17 can bring. as an aside to all of the madness, i wanna point out that the unfortunate byproduct of ks' defection from the board = ppl like OKC, speaps, and others effectively burning their bridges here... and methinks imu would have been eligible to return in a little bit if he was indeed a bit contrite in the wake of acknowledging his course of action that led to the suspension.... but yeah, now that shangri-la-la-land exists to give the previously/temporarily disenfranchised a forum (if you will) i reckon the board will never be 100.0% of what it was 2 years ago, aka unmistakably worsened.

and yeah, as a car honks in the distance to validate my point (which it does again for good measure) i feel justified in saying that if a CSFMB video game thread gets posted in the middle of a forest where imu17 isn't able to see/hear/contribute to it, does it truly exist at all?

i would hope power consumption is the biggest difference. x360 and ps4 are power hogs compared to what you get with a comparable windows computer these days. at least the ps4 had good cooling...

but really i hope when these machines are playing video or music they arent drawing more then 10w or so... if they just sit there and bake around 75w like they do now, i will never buy one. last console i bought was sega genesis.
