so idk if any of you lot have a wii and the homebrew channel involved (you know, the dreaded softmod that lets you do fun things like play every NES/SNES/genesis/etc game ever made with that nice classic snes/ish controller) but if you happen to have new super mario bros wii you can pop on over to http://www.newerteam.com and grab "Newer Super Mario Bros Wii" --- an all new New Super Mario Bros Wii game. Think of Super Luigi Bros Wii U just like, you know, beyond that in that there's all new levels and whatnot.

I've managed to sod off from the first world into the first secret world and I'm like "yeah, this is another proper mario bros game" so since this first level of the first secret world (there's five) is giving me reason to crack a beer all "fuck you" i'm hoping this gets sufficiently tougher later on. Shit, I think I still have to sort out world 6 or 7 of NSMBW cuz I warped to the final level the first time through.... c'est la vie.

But yeah, I just figured I'd give you lot a heads up on another solid mario game if you've got the Wii and you're not against the concept of not downloading new Wii updates to make sure your "softmodded"/homebrew-channel-enabled Wii gets bricked.

it's just an application that sits on your front page of squares. it basically allows you to run applications that you don't have to go to gamestop to buy.... softmodding, dude. i hardmodded my ps1 (i.e. i paid someone $50 or $100 to solder a chip into it) so i could play cd-r games of stuff i copied from friends/rentals, and i've had a hardmodded xbox (same thing) with a custom harddrive that was chock full of pirated games.... that's effort. this = you just get the wii homebrew channel and that's about it. i didn't actually install the homebrew channel on this wii (as my brother is the guy who keeps up with video games nowadays, so i borrowed the wii ready to go) but i'm pretty sure it's just something you download/install.... if you search on wii homebrew channel i'm sure you'll find out about it.

as i poitned out, i've got my nes/SNES/genesis emulators, alongside some atari ones, and then i've got the requisite stuff to play newer super mario brows wii. it's rather nice.... it's basically another game made with the resources of the new super mario bros wii disc.... i'm amazed nintendo hasn't sent cease and desists to newerteam.com yet
