Loved the game, but hated that the Cubs were not on there and could only play as Andre Dawson if you used the All Star team.

Think MLB noticed The Show was the only game being published this year with 2K saying fuck it and wanted to be sure something, anything came out for non-PS systems.

Hopefully Bases Loaded or SNK Baseball Stars is not far behind.

If this is like MLB the SHow, I think it could be something, I don't play a lot of baseball games, but did play the Show and liked that a lot.

They should just release it with old graphics, but with updated rosters.

I'm thinking you can get that for emulators if you desire.

Part of the awesomeness of the RBI games was the cartoonish element. Supposedly, this is supposed to be "serious"...

Doesn't Atari (or whoever owns the rights to Atari) own the rights to the name "RBI Baseball"?

R.B.I. was also the urban intitiative that Torii Hunter and others came up through.

That should be an FPS-like game... you have to run around and try to get inner city kids to pick a ballglove.

Reading on youtube, in some of the comments made it sound like the game could be more arcade like.

INTELLIVSION BASEBALL - Ultimate Pitchers Duels!

We would play for hours. No Hitter v No Hitter! The only way to win if 2 guys who are playing who are really good is your leadoff guy to lay down a bunt, beat it out. Sac around to 3rd and then beat a bunt to home, score before the out. Usually 30+ innings, Villa Rosa Pizza, yep, rocking Jr high days! Basically, if you got that leadoff guy on, the game was yours to lose.

Wasn't it the spin-off "Tengen" that did those unlicensed NES games? As you said, though, Atari has been bought, picked clean and reshuffled so many times who knows who owns the actual rights.

Yeah they did. I believe @ first they were licensed games, but Atari/Tengen got into a dispute w/ Nintendo over how many games they could release.

This Wikipedia article explains what happened well enough.

I only owned 2 NES Tengen games myself, Pac-Man & Gauntlet. Both were in the black cases, which were pretty badass.

I know this doesn't pretain to RBI Baseball, but The Show comes out opening day for PS3. For those of us that have PS4, we have to wait til May.

All that proves is that the PS3 game was probably just shoddily put together. PS4 will probably have opening day rosters & other goodies.

I think they have the PS3 code down over the years just fine to get it out in good shape on opening day. PS4 on the other hand...if it's delayed I'm sure they still haven't figured it out on PS4 yet. Rosters are updated every week anyway, doesn't matter when it's released.

Yeah, this is how the sports games usually go down...takes a bit longer to get the next gen version out...they've been cranking out PS3 versions for almost a decade now.

Here is a way from youtube to explain the difference for the show between PS3 and PS4.

Since some details have come out of the game, pretty much getting ripped, but I just wonder if this game is like a trial, see how sales do and what people really say when it comes out and if it comes back next year, it will be new and improved.
