Anyone get it?

I'm considering buying a new gaming computer just to play this game... (and a few others)

I'll buy it. Whether that is today or in a few weeks I don't know. I still play Civ V with a couple buddies once every couple of weeks.

We'll need to all add each other on Steam.

That was pretty much my thought process when I was thinking about it this afternoon. Seems like it'll take a couple days to get a good feel for it.

Since I already have Civ V and all expansions, it is only a 2.7GB download. Nice.

Just started my first game. I really should have read more about this. Setting up the game gives you a ton more options and at first glance this new tech web looks confusing as fuck. Might not learn a lot tonight considering I'm like 9 Fat Tires in.

I'm thoroughly confused. The ailens seem to leave me alone until I send a Worker or Explorer near their hives. I'm going to try Harmony.

So IMU, did you learn anything useful last night? I was too drunk to retain much, and I know I restarted like 8 times.

I don't know how the aliens didn't bother you. It seemed like they constantly surrounded my first city and attacked my explorer whenever he went anywhere close to them. Those fuckers are tough to kill too.

I plan on playing a lot tonight when I get off work.

Yeah - it was productive but there is still a lot to go. As I said, I think going Harmony helped a bit. It reduces alien enmity after removing them from where I felt I needed to be. Also, once I became strong enough to take out Siege Worms (225 turns or so) it helped a bit.

I'm still lost on the tech web...I just search out things that increase Health, Science and Harmony and see where it goes. I'm avoiding military and haven't expanded near other Civs so no one has gone to war with me yet. I also have two Civs nearby sharing Harmony and trade routes so I think I'm safe for the time being.

I like the way the units upgrade.

I don't think I ever made it past 100 turns

I really like the quest decision stuff. Overall I think they added enough to the game to justify the price tag. It's not just an expansion-type new game. I need to give it a proper playing tonight.
