Racin' at The Coliseum.

I'm intrigued. I received a personal email today from Steve Phelps. I'm sure no one else did.

Feels very Roman. I'm going to check it out. Been out of the game for a few years. Maybe I'll reinvest.

This is the Busch Clash. Sounds like they are going to do "interesting venues" this year.

I don't know much about it either. Heard about this earlier this week and it sounded cool.

Who's my driver now? I need a new guy.

It's so goofy, I'll have to watch. And I can't stand short track racin'.

Chase Elliott is my guy thanks to his dad. (Who replaced Cale Yarborough for me)

I've followed Chase a bit the past few years. I'm good with that.

I still hate Kyle and Kurt Busch. I don't care if they might have gotten the "old guy" everybody loves their fight revisionist history.

I hate them.

I'm good with Bubba Wallace. Maybe he can be my guy. Can't believe Harvick is still racing.

I've been feeling very old today - watching the Montana docu-series and realizing he's 65 and nobody has seen him play in 30 years and now this where all the prerace guys are dudes I used to watch race.

You just reminded me of racing through the teachers parking lot in 1973 with each kid picking out a NASCAR driver. I picked Buddy Baker. :eye:

I get it’s only Heat 1 and everybody is still getting drunk in the parking lot but the lack of asses in seats isn’t a great look.

LA's few fans are waiting on Ice Cube. And crashes.

I forgot it’s California.

They are in the parking lot having a nice glass of rosé and a smart charcuterie board.

Cool idea but this is like watching two people race around a couch in your living room.

Kurt is quite a bit different than Kyle.

Fun races so far. Looking forward to the main event but we have to sit through this concert bullshit. Tony Stewart sounds very good in the booth.

I would have been more surprised if the stadium was full. Nascar is a niche sport at about 7 to 8 in sports ranking in the U.S and this is in LA. Looks like it will be entertaining and on this sports-light weekend it will be interesting to see what the TV ratings are.

Did they make the track for just a one off? Waste of cash.

It's been great so far. It's racing like a shorter Martinsville which is just about the best race every year. They'll be a lot more beating and banging in the second half. Not sure if this is economically feasible to do every year but it is definitely better than I anticipated so far.

Pretty uneventful race. That's too bad since a great finish might have given Nascar more motivation to have more of these in the future. The racing was still better than I thought.

Yes, they did.

I read where Nascar has 30 days after yesterday to announce if they want to return to the Coliseum for like a 3 year contract.

should have made the turns bank at high side. give the outside lane an advantage so they can run two wide. the flat narrow track looks like hotweels racing

Yeah, but I doubt they could have built that up that quickly.

It wasn't exciting racing. The novelty of it was kind of cool but only for a while.
