Preachin' to the choir, brother.

Seems more like a duet than an actual choir, but either way I support your viewpoint regarding Danica.

Montoya is on the show, too. He's hilarious - driving a huge Target shopping cart.

I'll root for DP in the Indy 500. I really don't get why people don't like her trying NASCAR.

It's not like she's going straight to Sprint Cup. She's trying to work her way in as best as someone in her condition would be allowed to given sponsors and such.

Got to support our NASCAR guys. Hell, I'll even support Robby if he does Indy.

If he does Indy, he'll be giving up on a guaranteed top-10 finish at the Coke 600.

What was his "mind blowing" announcement anyway?

Danica has a little bit of Palin in her tone and that I needn't hear. Once she wins a race on this continent then I will acknowledge her.

I think it was getting BAM sponsorship for his first 5 races or something like that. That may not be 100% accurate since my mind is generally still in tact as far as I can tell.

According to Sirius NASCAR Radio (which is awesome) today, he's also building a Monster Truck and wants to race the Indy 500 this year.

Although, I've recently spoken fondly of one Robby Gordon so, perhaps, my mind has, in fact, been blown.

DP just had a good point.

Why don't they give them pit road speeds in practice? They should let them practice and calibrate the pit road speed. Never thought about it but it makes sense.

My mind is not blown.

Robby Gordon has officially been replaced by Scott Speed in the #2 spot on Spanky's favorite NASCAR driver list. Scott Speed qualified 23rd today and won $400 at the tables last night. Robby Gordon didn't even make a qualifying run today........loser.

And why the hell are there 51 cars entered in the Nationwide race this week?

Trackside At Las Vegas on Speed TV is on again at Midnight. \

Unless you absolutely hate Danica, I recommend checking it out since she came off pretty well even if most of the panel looked like a bunch of tools.

I really wish someone like Mac or B&B would just interview this guy once or twice. I think once they heard him, they'd want him on more.

I really think just having him on the show for a segment each week would be worth it as he is just entertaining and would turn some people on to the sport. He's just a good interview.

She's on now. Saying she can't see over the steering wheel.

Saw that last week at Fontana when they showed her in-car cam. Yikes.

I doubt Kasey Kahne can either. I've seen him. He's tiny.

How short is she? The likes of gordon and martin and some of the other guys are 5'3 to 5'5. The one thing I always thought was cool about jr was that he actually looks normal in real life instead of like a troll.

That is going to be her limiting factor. Danica just doesn't have the poundage to hold onto a stockcar.

Even they slighter guys like Kahne and Mark Martin are at aboot 150 lbs. Danica passes the Doug-e.p. scale, but that will not help her drive the Nationwide car.

Being on the doug scale isn't doing her any favors either. :D

The best part of this show is montoya. He got played up as some outsider douche when he first entered nascar, but he is awesome.

Danica Patrick's measurements are 33-24-34. She is only 5'1 3/4" and 105lbs.

Don't think many jockeys are pulling in $77,000 for two races.

Starts Avg. Start Avg. Finish Winnings
2 25.5 33.0 77,641

Doc- this blows my mind as well- hell, we have radar speed units on sprayers, combines and other farm equipment that can read out to hundredths of MPH- would not require gearing changes , no drag to the car- ultra-low electrical power use. just the economic loss of a pit road speeding penalty would more than pay for these things- it just makes no freakn sense to me how top teams don't have some better system. Or does NASCAR have some rule against it for some reason?

Let me start the conspiracy theory for the week. NASCAR forced McDowell to say the wreck was entirely his fault.

I don't believe that or do I.......

No conspiracy - I'd put about 75%-80% of the blame on him, the rest on her. He was really slow and did start to come down, she was flying and tried to pass low.

She pushed the issue when she didn't need to. She should have just laid back and given him room. Still mostly his fault but she shouldn't have put herself there. Inexperience.
