As a loving tribute to sjboyd, I've resurrected the Bud Shootout contest and upped the prize money. Here's a quick and easy way to win yourself $50. Now that I have you greedy bastard's attention - here's the deal.

The NASCAR season kicks off this weekend with the exhibition Bud Shootout on Saturday night. A certain number of drivers are eligible (33) but not sure if all will run the race. I predict that 27 drivers will start the race so the contest is closed after 27 selections.

Here's how the contest will work -

You will select a number from 1-27 before FRIDAY AT 6PM. Because, at 7pm on Friday the Bud Shootout Selection show will air on SpeedTV where the drivers will choose a random starting spot from a Budweiser bottle and have a pretty girl open it for them to see where they will start.

As a point of reference, Kevin Harvick started 23rd three years ago and won the race.

Whoever starts in the numbered spot that you select will be your driver. If your guy wins the race, you get $50.

So, for example, I choose #1 and Derrike Cope pulls the #1 starting spot, he's MY GUY for $50 for the win.

Or, if you choose #22 and Dale Earnhardt Jr. pulls the #22 starting spot, YOU'LL WIN $50 when Jr. wins the race.

If we don't have enough people making a selection and there is no winner, I'll donate the $50 to Autism Speaks.
