As an update, I considered doing the Bud Shootout contest again this year. I've always enjoyed the random driver assignments generated by the Pretty Girl Opens Your Bud Bottle on the Friday night program on SPEED.

However, the Bud Shootout this year is actually The Sprint Unlimited and drivers are assigned as follows -



BORING. Plus, the race just doesn't sound as cool as THE BUD SHOOTOUT. So, I'll pass this year on a Shootout contest.

After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of completing The Spreadsheet on a weekly basis.

I am well aware that this contest, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering.

However, in today's CSFMB world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of this contest, in order to steer the boat of Dale Jr. and proclaim his Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognise my incapacity to adequately fulfil The Spreadsheet entrusted to me.

For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the leadership of Keeper of The Spreadsheet, Master of the Moneybags, entrusted to me by bigfan on 20 October 2006, in such a way, that as from 11 February 2013, at 10:00 hours, the See of Motor Sports, the See of Dale Jr., will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Excel Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.
