Busch, who finished fourth, and Allgaier, who finished fifth, met on pit road to discuss the race and Allgaier’s frustration with the way Busch raced him.
After talking with his crew chief as well as his brother, Kyle (who owns the Nationwide team), Kurt was stopped on pit road for a live television interview, during which he said, “I’m on probation so I can’t even pick my nose the right way." Busch remained on pit road and talked to a radio reporter as well as Sporting News and Speed. Pockrass asked Busch if being on probation impacted the way he raced.
“It (being on probation) refrains me from not beating the (expletive) out of you right now because you ask me stupid questions,” Busch said. “But since I’m on probation, I suppose that’s improper to say as well.
“If you could talk about racing things, Bob, we can talk about racing things.”
The incident was captured by Speed and aired on the network's "SpeedCenter" show Saturday evening.
Confrontations with the media have cost Busch in the past. Last November, Busch was fined $50,000 in part for cursing at ESPN reporter Jerry Punch during the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. That incident was caught by a fan using a cell phone to videotape it, and the video went viral.
Busch was released by Penske Racing following the season and is now driving for Phoenix Racing in the Sprint Cup Series and his brother's Nationwide team.
