I'm thinking about starting a new piece called "The Daily Stool".

As some of you know, I'm kind of anti thread starting, which is odd considering I just started this one. :? But rather than innundate you with new threads for every tidbit I come across, I can just dump them here instead.

Now this won't necessarily be a daily thing. But just when the situation arouses. Arises. WAIT!

Give me a Holla Holla if you like it NascarNation!!!!

I'll ask this since I heard it on ESPN, they said Hendrick had success by switching crew chiefs around, and that maybe Gibbs racing should do the same thing.

I could see that working, Zippadeli was with Logano to get him iniated with the sport, Zippy a 2 time champion crew Chief with Stewart, could help Hamlin or Busch.

Hamlin may have been the disapointment of the season after last year, but you do see that sometimes in other sports where you come close to winning and fall off the next season.

Busch can win about every race, just needs to fix the other stuff.

Ok.........this goes deeper than just JGR.

First of all Smoke was said to have informed Grubb he would not be with the team after the season sometime near the beginning of the chase. While they won 5 races and the title I would still expect them parting ways. That opens up an opportunity for Zippy to reunite with Smoke.

Second....the engine shops at Hendrick and JGR are supposedly going to be working together. McGrew is out of a job with the #5 car as Kahner is bringing Francis with him. McGrew could be either reassigned within the Hendrick organization or be in play with JGR.

There are lots of opportunities for crew chief movement at JGR and I wouldn't be shocked to see a shake up with the #11 and #20. I think the #18 will stay the same.

This is awesome. When is the weekly, hourly segment gonna be? Seriously, awesome idea. Get that live feed going. Podcast it maybe. Get a Sunoco or Goodyear rep on. It's gotta be better than Spada. :)

Congrats to Tony Stewart. Now 3 time Nascar Champ. Tony can get anybody he wants to be his crew chief. Unless they have a contract, like Zippy does. Kurt Busch's crew chief does too, Steve Addington is also an option. Grubb can go back to Hendrick and have to drive to the other side of the parking lot to work. As for JoeGibbs Racing, they are a step behind in cheating than every other team. Different motor? New motor? Toyota Racing Development checks bouncing? Pick any of them and it sounds plausible. Busch The Younger will have a meeting with himself and visit Carlos Zambrano and BigFan at the Starbucks a few days a week for latte's and healing over the winter.

Denny Hamlin and Joey Logano are also having down years, not just from having to work with a crazy person each week. Sponsor speculation on Home Depot looking for another driver. Dollar General going to sponsor Logano for 12 races and Home Depot the rest of the season. I don't see how GameStop would not become a primary sponsor for a 12 week deal. If you have been paying attention race fans, the single sponsor for a season is hard to come by these days. A lot of companies are only buying in for portions of the schedule. Logano could use two other sponsors of what the kids are up to these days.

How in the hell is Jeff Gordon's primary sponsorship "the drive to fight hunger"? You have a very popular name who runs near the front and that is his sponsor for every race?

Being hungry sucks. Like all the food Jeff Gordon used to get stuck in his wispy mustache, by crackie!

The greatness of Tony Stewart

Quote:
Homestead-Miami Speedway, Tony Stewart went from all-time great to legend, capturing his third career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship in grand fashion a number that places him among a short list of historic NASCAR figures. With a victory in Sunday's Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Stewart became the seventh champion to win the season finale in his championship season. He out-dueled runner-up Carl Edwards in a finale befitting a championship showdown, tying Edwards in points but winning the championship on a tiebreaker. Stewart's five wins bested Edwards' one, clinching the title for Stewart.
Stewart won his first championship in 2002 and second in 2005. The Indiana native now joins David Pearson, Lee Petty, Darrell Waltrip and Cale Yarborough all NASCAR Hall of Fame members or inductees as three-time champions. Nine drivers in NASCAR Sprint Cup history have won three or more championships.

Quote:
" Tony Stewart Won his third Cup Series championship in 464 starts. He won the 2002 and 2005 Cup championships.
" Tony Stewart is the only driver to win a Cup championship in the pre-chase format (2002) and the Chase format (2005,2011).
" Tony Stewart has been in the Chase's seven of eight seasons, all but 2006 when he missed the Chase by 16 points.
" Tony Stewart is the ninth driver to win three or more championships in the 63 Cup Series seasons.
" Tony Stewart is the first driver to enter the Chase winless in the regular season to win the championship.
" This is the first time 1-2 in points have been tied at the end of the season.
" Tony Stewart made his first Cup start at Daytona in Feb. 1999 and has started every race since.
" Tony Stewart has at least one Cup victory in each of his 13 seasons -- the longest active streak.
" Tony Stewart is the eighth driver to win Cup Series championships for more than one organization and the first since Terry Labonte in 1996.
" Tony Stewart is the first owner/driver to win a championship since Alan Kulwicki in 1992.
" Tony Stewart is the seventh driver to win the championship and the season finale.
" This is the first-time the champion and second in points finished 1-2 in the season finale.
" Tony Stewart's nine top-fives are the fewest top-five finishes by a champion since Bill Rexford had five in the 1950 season with only 17 starts.
" This is the 28th Cup Series title for a Chevrolet driver including the past seven.
" Tony Stewart is 40 years old (May 20, 1971) from Columbus Ind. He is the oldest champion in the Chase era.

Tony Stewart's Indiana hometown celebrating his NASCAR title with spot in Christmas parade

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
First Posted: November 28, 2011 - 12:27 pm

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Racer Tony Stewart's central Indiana hometown will celebrate his winning of a third NASCAR championship as he takes part in the city's Christmas parade.

Columbus officials announced Monday that Stewart would be a guest of honor during its annual Festival of Lights Parade that begins at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The parade will come 13 days after Stewart captured the NASCAR title with his third win among this year's last four Sprint Cup Series races.

Columbus held a parade in Stewart's honor in 2005 after he won that year's Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Stewart also won NASCAR championships in 2002 and 2005.

THANK YOU!!! :D

Best Buy has jumped ship from Dinger and the 43 over to a dual part time sponsorship of Carl Edwards and Matt Kenseth. This all comes a week after Richard Petty expressed interest in Kurt Busch.
