i was never a huge fan of the congress..... i saw chappelle there on the blackzilla tour in 03, and the other memorable show was one where i got free tickets to a tech n9ne/paul wall/ill bill show and i went there and saw the guy from non-phixion and spent the rest of the time in teh smoking area smoking and/or freestyling. i think i saw latyrx there at a festival aftershow a year or two back, but i don't have solid memories of that.

last time i tried going there was last year as some friends were in from out of town to see diplo. i didnt give a shit, but i figured i'd see the status quo of electronic music.... and the flagrant ~5 deep "undercover" cop squad checking/disrespecting everyone getting into line turned me off.... "let's see your ticket" me: "huh?" (cuz you know, when shows are sold out there's a game to be played. i can play it quite well) and like 5 fucking guidos in leather jackets with badges against their skin tight muscletoned shirts were like GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE OR ELSE WE'RE GONNA ARREST YOU.

then a chief keef show and welp..... JORR no doubt has way better stories than me

i laughed when you'd buy a ticket to a show there and there was like a 1$ "restoration" fee....like when the fuck did anyone ever do any kind of maintenance or repairs to the place, it was crumbling

always remember when rpb and I went to Wu Tang there, someone set off one of the fire extingushers during the show, and there must have been 3 or 4 fights going on in the hallways on the way out...I was like just let me get the hell out of here in one piece
