Ok, I read this post earlier today, and honetly assumed that "HawaiiYa" made that on Photoshop or something. Was rather shocked after going to the real Score website now and seeing that image is really up there. Wow.

Ya I didn't make it up, it's up on their website. I think their thinking is that since the Sox won the WS, that they will cater to their fans for next year. I dont know much about radio ratings, but I dont think that the score is going to get half the auidience WGN does with the cubs. The Sox didnt help am1000 this year.

The absolute majority of South Side guys (White Sox fans) I know listen to WMVP. Unlike morons like myself they are not sports radio afficionados but still love baseball and the White Sox and get their fix with MJH, Mike & Mike, and Levine's show with Rooney that used to air on the weekends.

So, being a Northsider, I guess they don't want me listening anymore.

Okay.

Bye.

Same here, I assume that it will go like this with the Score and their listeners.

Score - Why aren't you listening, we are a southiside station.

SS Listener- I aint goin to listen until you become number one again or put out stronger lineup.

or it will be something like this, you will have a 100,000 southsiders tell you they are score fans, but only 2000 will actually listen.

Screw the score, because newxt year when Konerko is playing for the Dodgers and all the players who had career years go back to sucking, they will be begging for the northside fans to come back, but as of now, they can my ass and print it. I supported and defended that station for fricken years and now they just turn their back on Cub fans so they can make a few buscks on a fluke year by the Sox. Whatever! The Sox deserved the championship this year, no doubt, but to become JR's bitch is just stupid.

Cmon now guest. You make some valid points, but you are painting with an awfully broad brush. Not all people on this board share the same opinions. I and others have trashed WMVP every bit as much as we've criticized the Score. And you are being much too simplistic to try to claim that the people on this board all share the same thoughts. So yes...we "can have it both ways people." Some people like Murph and Cubs talk and some don't. Some Cubs fans probably don't like the new Southside logo and some won't care. Some people like cupcakes and some don't. It's called the real world. Deal with it. The more you try to paint us all with the same broad brush, the more you lose credibility and come off as little more than a Score shill. Perhaps you guys at the Score (and WMVP for that matter) should focus on improving your product, rather than all this knee-jerk defensiveness. Good companies listen to constituents, they don't give them the back of their hand like you are doing.

well Murph tries to keep it real with Cubbie talk - but then most people here jump down his throat for not talking enough Sox.

Can't have it both ways people

In fairness, Murph shouldnt be talking Cubs at all over the last month with the Sox making this run, but a station that both sides of town supported turns it back on one side, its just cheap.

and maybe you'll see that I'm much more down the middle than most of the bashers around here.

Just a few questions, not looking for a fight, but you seem to be a Score guy, maybe you can give me some thoughts.

1. Why is ok for anyone the air at the Score to bash whoever they want, whenever they want, but here on a public board, you feel we dont have the right to voice our opinions? If you can honestly say the Score is a better product today then is was five years ago, then your not paying attention.

2. At the Score, it seems they cant take the heat when they fail, why is that? Because when they were winning the ratings war, you couldnt shut them up about it, now that they are losing in the ratings, it's a flawed system, as Fred and Mike have stated for weeks now. To me that sounds like two guys who are in denial.

I was a big time score guy for years, but in my opinion the egos of everyone there got so huge, it seems to me they forgot that their job is to do a radio show, not make the station their pesonal toy. Again, just my opinion.

Thanks

Score lineup 5 years ago? What was their website address back then and I can look it up. (it wasn't 670thescore.com)

See, even this thread is just a huge mis-leading exaggeration, or a complete ignorant mistake by the original poster (no offense)

Why don't you go over to the real Score website and take a look. It still says 670TheScore ChicagoSportsRadio with a big old logo right at the very top of the page.

The whole Southside Radio thing is just a portion of the site. In fact, right under it, it says "parade" so the original poster didn't even include the entire graphic.

It's just a PART of the site, and to top that, what is inaccurate about it? It's the Sox new home. And if you want to go to that PORTION of the site - then that PORTION is called Southside Radio

Agreed. I went to the site expecting to see only that silver and black logo. It's just a part of the site.

Assuming that color scheme is temporary, but we will see.

Why don't you run down those career years genius. In reality, most of the team had down years offensively. Combine that with the pitching and the Sox are poised for a run at it again next year.

Yeah I guess those two duck snorts that Bagwell and Vizcaino hit off of him really shows that he's overrated.

Cotts had a career year, he will bever come close to the ERA he had this year.

You'd think you would look up the numbers before you posted.

I'll give you Garland.

Uribe was well down in both power and average from the previous year.

Pods was well below the .314 he hit two years ago and well under the 70 bases he stole last year.

Jenks was a rookie learning his position on the fly this year. He still has much to learn even next year. However, if you cannot see the potential then you just do not know baseball.

I guess it was a career year for Cotts if you understand that this was his second year in the league. He is a future starter in the league who is just refining his pitches now as a reliever.

Good post though.

I have this thing called a "job" so it isnt like I have time. Pods had a good rookie year, but you left out 2004 were hit hit 250 or so.

Again, thanks for ignoring the fact I ackoowledged that the Sox deserved to win it all this year, it makes your argument so much better to leave out facts.

but you called it a fluke year?
they could very well be horrible next year. they will likely not make the playoffs. i doubt the pitching will hold up like it did this year. but a fluke?

I'll take flukes that go all the way over a bona fide "talent" any day.

Not the way those guys played, a fluke... That's too good a record through the regular season, capped by a buzzsaw of a post-season record, for any notion of a fluke.

That's too many things going right at the same time, for too long a sustained period.

I think we're missing the main point that their graphics still looked like they were designed by a middle schooler. How can they be taken seriosuly?

Just Steve wrote:

So that excuse allows you to make up whatever you want and post it as fact? Yes, because no one else who follows a team has a job. I could go further with the job thing and another team in town, but they're nothing to me now

By the way, now that the PARADE is over, so is the logo.

If the original topic starter wouldn't have so blantantly and purposely left out that important word - PARADE - then this stupid thread wouldn't have reached 2 pages of sheer rubbish.
