The most unique and original rapper in hip hop history and one of my all time favorites

Shame on you, when you step through to
The Ol' Dirty Bastard, Brooklyn Zoo!

I loved me some Big Baby Jesus.

Is he the most "unique"? I've never heard him described that way. He's hysterical, he's fairly prolific, and he's quirky.
(And you are way more versed in rap than I am, RPB. You'd know)

I guess I'm asking: Why is he the most unique?

The adjective "unique" can't take comparatives or superlatives. It's like being "increasingly inevitable" or "more dead."

Well, I think he's the most original.

I kinda look at it like a character. Every rapper has their persona and most of them are similar. There havent been too many like ODB. Most rappers message is that they are the best rapper, smooth with the ladies and a kingpin. He's basically saying, Im a bum and a dirty motherfucker and Ill kill you.

Danny Brown is kind of an ODB rip off.

ODB probably took a little from Flava Flav's act too though.

I probably used Unique since that's one of his names "Ason Unique"

Yes. And Inspectah Deck compared it to fighting for Iraq

But Deck is not a star. Half the Wu are stars (Meth, ODB, Gza, Rae, Ghost). The other half(INS, Masta Killa, UGod, Cappadonna) are decent rappers. The decent rappers often get mad at the stars

I have no business posting here but I'm like a dog that must leave his mark!

I used to like Tone Loq so does that count for anything?

O RLY? what about the likely-derivative rapper MC RIDE THE TANK ENGINE?!?!?! you know dude from the death grips? check out this one that goes with some vaporwave seriously RPB even tho i'm just playing devil's advocate this track is great.

i think ODB can be summed up by this one one-liner from one of his solo albums where he just matter of factly yells out I'M DOPE LIKE FUCKING HEROIN. the man said it. WU-TANG IS FOR THE CHILDREN! when he was at awards shows while having a warrant and whatnot? i think he was what i'd call an "experience" rapper, insomuchas he wasn't the most lyrically gifted dude going out there doing mental/verbal gymnastics or anything, but if you hung out with ODB one weekend you'd be telling the grandkids about it 40 years later (same with ludacris i reckon, cuz luda always amazed me that you could hear his new joint for for the first time and you could guess what his next end rhyme word was cuz he was so flagranty lowest common denominator)

now i gotta bump-n-dump the brooklyn zoo 12" today in honor of the man.... outside of the first solo LP what's worth getting from him? 2nd album ni66a please? anything else?
