you have not given the mayor nearly the shit he deserves on this budget issue. Between the CTA and the overall city Budget, I have to say WHAT THE F UCK HAS BEEN GOING ON? He is the guy! The Buck stops with him! The money I alone give to this city for fees, taxes, permits, fines, tickets and donations is a joke to be telling me they can't balance a budget.

They are going to DOUBLE Tax on Beer? Then hit Bottled Water? My Auto Lease? (Which they already got), My Propery Taxes again! Transfer Taxes on Property sales(yeah the market needs that?) DVD rentals??? (Which idiot thought of that)

Hey, I have an idea, why don't we tax guests an addtional 9% on hotel stays! Oh yeah, we already did that to Build Jerry's House and I was told by Daley that 'It wouldn't matter because it was out of towners paying for it."

BF. but for the general sales tax and the real estate transfer tax I agree. But to expect the morning misfit to voice any opposition, you must be dreaming. He spent his early adult life on the city payroll, still supports the 'old school' pols who have/and continue to screw the city through taxes, TIF districts in already over-developed areas, patronage, the Olympic joke and scandals like hiring, Hired Truck, M/WBE set asides fronted by his 'friends', HDO, 11th Ward friends of the programs... (get the idea)...North won't bite this hand that fed/feeds him...

I think it has been 10 years now of daley pulling up short every year after he dolls out the money to every ethnic group on the block! Buys the votes and then has no money left.

UPDATE: Daley doesn't have to buy the votes anymore! He's been in office over 10 years. They just get in line come election time without any coercion at all.
And let's not forget Blagojevich in all of this! He raised casino taxes to an astounding 70% and still can't fill the holes in the budget. When Metra starts cuts in service and raising fares then you know it's serious! If the CTA goes ahead with their "Doomsday" plan Tuesday there will be hell in the streets!

Winning covers a multitude of sins

Those fees are peanuts compared to how you will be socked as we move closer and closer to mandatory affordable housing for every project over 10 units. No one can seem to get it through their thick skulls that it is a societal problem and so, should be carried by all of society and not just a single industry.
