Post subject: North on the NBA (11/16)
PostPosted: Wed Nov 16, 2005 12:58 pm
This morning, Mike North said that most NBA fans would not know who the coach of the Toronto Raptors or Atlanta Hawks are.

That may be true (As a big NBA fan, I know - answer below), but shouldn't someone who gets paid 1 Million dollars a year know more than a common fan ? I'm not asking him to talk Hawks basketball, but he should at least know that.....

Answer:

Hawks: Mike Woodson
Raptors: Sam Mitchell (for now at least)

Better than that was the history of Charlie Villanueva offered by Mr. Basketball himself. "...was going to Illinois, but decided on Kansas and they hated him there cuz he didn't work all the time." Someone pointed out VERY GENTLY and with extreme hesitation that Villanueva actually went to UConn. What's amazing about this was not so much that North was wrong in fact, but that he created a story to go with it. Annie had to be loving it and I'll bet Zak probably knew. Maybe "Mike North knows" is becoming more of a non-sequitor....even with sports. Totally humiliating.
