This is a real shame. He left his car in neutral, walked to his mailbox in front of his house .
Car backed up and pinned him between the car and mailbox. He was great in the new Star Trek movies.

RIP

That's a horrific way to go.

Ah, you’re right, Ed. A parachute not opening… that’s a way to die. Getting caught in the gears of a combine… having your nuts bit off by a Laplander, that’s the way I wanna go!

One of George Kennedy's greatest roles.

Right up there with Cool Hand Luke and Creepshow 2.

Why would you have your car in neutral in that situation to begin with?

According to Fiat Crysler Automotive, the issue stems to from the design of the electronic shifter. When the driver shifts the vehicle into park, the only indication to the driver is a light on the console: “unless due care is taken, drivers may draw erroneous conclusions about the status of their vehicles.”

According to a representative from FCA, drivers of affected vehicles were notified and issued directions to properly operate the shifter. The company could not speak about this specific accident, nor whether Yelchin’s vehicle was one of the ones affected by the recall.

Yeah, it's looking like Jeep is going to have some problems with this....

i gotta be real and say that he was prolly a dumbass if he managed to do what most ppl think he did (thought he parked the car on his steep-incline driveway, had it slip into neural, come crashing down and smash him in the gate).

THAT SAID

if i was the illuminati and i wanted to make a blood sacrifice to ensure the success of star trek 3: the search for direction, i'd make sure i offered up molech someone not too vital like checkov, you know? *twilight zone theme*
