Was best friend of my dad for 50 years. Car turned left in front of him. Killed instantly... He was 60yo. Awesome guy. Dad is really shook up... I hadnt seen the guy in like 5 years but saw him a few months ago. This really sucks.

Dad had a similar accident about 5 years ago... But he was only going 20mph so he just flipped over the car and landed on his back. Scared the shit out of him, said he couldnt move for a few min

But his friend must have been doing 60 because the front of the van he hit is gone and i guess he nearly got cut in half.

Bikes are great fun (I rode in college and still have my license) but it is a shame they are so flippin' dangerous. So much out of the rider's control. So sorry for everyone.

Not even mad at whoever did it. Turning left into oncoming traffic happens a LOT. I dont know what it is, people just zone out and go. I was in an accident this same way. I had a red car, broad daylight. Crossing an intersection at 50mph, the lady was in the left turn lane facing me. I saw her sit there... Blinker.... I thought for sure she saw me obviously. Nope. Soon as i hit the intersection she pulled out. I swerved, she still clipped my rear bumper and thew me sideways. I skidded back and forth about 4 times before i finally slowed enough to get control. Lucky to have enough ro to save it. Lucky i didnt hit her head on.

I had an oz inside the dash too. I was more scared of that. But she was scared too.. saying she never saw coming at all. I was in clear sight of her for like a mile before i got to her. I just dont get it but it happens.

1988 High School friend died in a motorcycle accident trying to pass on the left in a residential area that he knew and grew up in. The day before it happened we were kidding him that he needed to slow down and take care and get the front tire on his cycle replaced. We smoked a joint and he agreed he should do this and be more careful in the future. Next day he passed a car on the left and left this earth forever. Landed in the front lawn of our minister at the Methodist Church his wife was a nurse but injuries were to severe to save him.
