Other than Opie, I think he was the last remaining characters from the original Andy Griffith show.

Was always great to see him sing Back Home Again in Indiana when we went to the Indy 500 every year.

Thelma Lou is still kicking. Also, there's still a few repeat characters such as Leon (Clint Howard) & Charlene Darling (Maggie Peterson).

I grew up in McHenry Co in the 70s watching TV shows from the 50s being raised by WWII-era grandparents.

So yeah, I'm having a little trouble adjusting to the modern world.

Charlene had a very old face back then.

Also, I bet Gomer’s husband is devastated.

No Boers and the show was still funny.

Not sure if he was in this episode, but the episode with the genie from I Dream of Jeannie was good because she was smo-kin hot. I've seen exactly two episodes overall.

Grew up on Andy Griffith but wasn't a Gomer fan although he was a good singer at Indy.

RIP.

I hoped to hell it was going to be a three-man weave of Dan, J Goff, and J Hood w/ Tanny producing that. It would've been GLORIOUS.

I think most of the Dillards are still alive. Saw them at Fitzgerald's a bunch of years ago - they were so damn amazing.

Anal sex doesn't hurt for the pigbottoms in heaven. Lucky guy, because Rock Hudson has been waiting for him.

What's the "You're exactly right jackass" drop from?

I'm guessing that Jack McDowell was filling in for a White Sox game in some capacity (will presume TV given the fidelity), and what was actually said was "You're exactly right Jack, as ...." and who knows what he said afterwards.

My hope is he is making a citizen’s arrest of Jesus as I post.

RIP, Gomer

Agreed, although Elinor Donahue was pretty decent as well (also still with us).
Almost time to watch this episode (along with the Dick Van Dyke Christmas episode).
