Park Forest is a carbon copy of Rolling Meadows housing stock. I wish better for them.

Park Forest still hasn't recovered from the recession. And isn't close to it unfortunately.

The 8.37% property tax rate does not help things either.

Oddly enough I was just talking with a mortgage broker about the difficulty in explaining the ridiculously high tax escrow payments that are as high or higher than the p&I amount.

And then I heard about Rich East an hour later.

The student population in 227 has sharply declined. They currently have 12 kids per class, state average is 20. Still some real nice large newer homes in Olympia Fields that value is just being depressed by the high taxes and bad schools

Olympia Fields is an example of really poor planning.

I thought you were moving up here?

I'm still thinking about it. I need a couple of things to fall into place by the spring. But I'd never move to the south suburbs, especially since I really hate driving long stretches now. And being away from the lakefront. Plus I have decades of bad memories out south.

If you have to speak, mumble.
