This is true. I agree. My boss would not want me publicly bad-mouthing him or his company. However, I think their industry is different. North is paid to give his opinion on exactly those things.
Look, I realize there is a point where a host could go too far with that. But, how often has North been suspended for complaining about management? Maybe he has but I don't recall any. I don't see why they would need to specifically restrict him in this manner if it had never been a problem before.
He's been suspended for many other things that they don't seem to be interested in specifically restricting him on. But, they are drawing the line on themselves now for some reason. It just seems like they are being thin-skinned.
Maybe you are right and they were just pushing him out.
In the last several weeks, North kicked up the bashing of management about 2 notches. He made it specific & personal - calling the GM stupid and incompetent. It's one thing to take a shot at Gleason or Mitch occasionally in a semi-joking manner. However, his shots at Agase were aired with venom. I love controversy as much as anyone, but quite frankly it became uncomfortable.
