He was one of the coaches I liked as a kid. He was funny.

Here's an example. When he took the microphone in Cincy when fans were throwing shit on the field. They were playing the Browns.

It was just a bit with Norman Chad to take shots at him. But I remember the Sun Times putting Chad's articles in their paper. Reading it as a kid. And yes, always a shot at Whyche in many of his columns.

He was 84-107 as a coach. 8 years with the Bengals. 4 years with Tampa Bay. It's pretty tough to get to 100 losses as an NFL coach. Cuz you just don't get the chance to coach that long when you always lose. 12 years he got. But I liked that 1988 team that lost to the 49ers in the Super Bowl.
