Maybe your shortwave radio isn't working, but he's got a steady gig out of Tehran now. It's on at 10-12 PM Chicago time.

Well, you know, that internet streaming place he did that show from has Dave Baum, who alternates between sports and topical subjects. Of course, Dave actually comes from talk radio, and can do different subjects. The biggest issue I see with that (internet radio) is that you're selling your own ads. But he could line up all "his guys" like Dave Spada, etc. Question is, what's the point of running ads that don't target Chicago?

Makes me wonder if he has a contractual OK to sell stuff bearing the station insignia beyond expiration of his deal.

Probably not. Lets call CBS's lawyers so they could harass him!

Does Pappy actually call you back himself now? It's not like he's got anything better to do.

I doubt he had contractual OK before. Except that really isn't their insignia, and I think the Morning Show artwork is his. But the CBS lawyers can have some fun, anyway! "Undeniably Chicago" might be theirs...

Seriously though, why would you want such swag? Even when the show was on?

From NorthToNorth.com today (just the last lines of his 'take on Chicago sports'):

Was on the air Sunday note at 5:00PM with Geoff Pinkus on WIND 560 AM . It was a blast. Talk to you later.

Mike, Be-Be, and Lucky

PS Something big on the Bears in a couple of days.

The half witted dropout is finding out that fame is fleeting. He's found zero demand for his limited talents and is now a footnote in radio history. He will always be remembered for turning down 800K with no other job lined up. I guess a little more education might have helped him make a better decision. I'm glad he's off the air and hope he never returns.

Possible breaking Bears news:

1. Hester got a new deal
2. Urlacher got a new deal
3. Direct snap to Hester
4. Butkus is better than Urlacher
5. Briggs was treated unfairly with a race angle mixed in somewhere
6. "Rex is our quarterback"... or was it a Lovie thought, nevermind.
7. Orton won 10 games
8. Richard Jauron!
9. I coach HS hoops, and as a coach... I don't want to be thought of as a coach but as a leader...
10. Bears are cheap

Forget Radio, I can see Pappy being hired by Ditka to "work the room"
at Ditka's restaurant, the way Feech did after prison for Tony Soprano.

He could just roam from table to table, telling tales of the good days,
giving gambling tips, and telling his hilarious jokes, maybe sing some Dean
or Sammy song once in while, you know to keep it current.

Once he's secure there, he could then bring in his people, Bee a job as hostess,
and maybe Jen as a valet?

It is truly funny. All his bravado about all these big offers he had. He's a washed up has-been and his best shot at a job will be a weekend sports show on a non sports station, which of course, will not pay very much. Turned down 800k, this is truly funny.

Maybe Pappy can be Ron Hawking's warm-up act/ driver.

Shit-howdy, we can do our own webcasts! Who said they had to be good?
