Danniels didn't feel Geddy looked like a traditional front man and wanted him out and Alex and John went along with it. A month later when they couldn't find a replacement Rutsey called Geddy and and asked him to come back. Geddy talks about it on the doc "Beyond the Lighted Stage".

then when he turned the band into van hagar lost interest.

then stories came out of him being a complete dick to both roth and hagar.

but his guitar skills are simply the best.

Well...given the list of other bands managed by Ray Danniels.....I tend to buy Sammy's impression that the guy was a moron and was an awful choice to manage VH.
