I can see how Jen got swept away. I can see how she got addicted to her "Score life". It came fast and easy for her. She was young. She was a voice in a big city on a major radio station. Got to go to ball games for free. Got to go into locker rooms. Got to talk to the players. She got to travel the country to big events. She got to meet famous people. She was treated like a Princess. She felt important. She felt like a star. I can understand that can be quite intoxicating.
Hell, she still refuses to take down her former job title from her web site. It's not like she doesn't go to her site. She could take it off. It still says she is "Executive Producer and on air personality." It's hard for her to take that down. That gave her status. She doesn't want to replace it with "Pro Handicapper". By leaving it there it still gives her a "star" feeling.
She's hanging onto Pappy cuz she wants that former life back. She feels, by hanging with Pappy, it's the only way it will come back. I don't think it's coming back, Jen. Those were the best years of your life...
Jen, the Score was your "Summer of '69"...
