They haven't played it at any of the shows on this tour, going back to their first shows in Boston, St Louis, Pittsburgh last month. Brown Sugar used to be the main set closer. Some music journos asked about its absence before this week; but no one cared until Piers Morgan and Nigel Farage took it up as some sort of cause of something or other, who knows what they're on about

the artist should be free to play what the artist feels like playing. similarly, the artist should be free to discontinue performing some piece or aspect of art they once performed and now no longer feel like engaging.

Once heard Peter North on Adam Carolla talk about how he did gay porn in his younger days, a shocker to Carolla and everyone else as, who knew? But North no longer did gay porn, hadn't done it in years, decades. Should Peter North be required to suck dick and take it in the ass the rest of his life just b/c he did it at one point in his career? Of course not.
