What made the Score successful early was the "3 ring circus" approach. If one guy didn't appeal to you, hang tight for a few hours; you'll probably like the next one. They still have that approach, but sadly most of the talent isn't interesting any more.

IRONY!

Remember before the Score, it was guys like Coppock where he would have a show with guests and guests and guests and no callers. Or WGN boring sports radio with the same thing, and when they did take callers, they basically would call the callers idiots.

Then came the Score and it was what everyone was waiting for. A Sports station/show where Fans could actually talk was ballooning for years and it finally exploded when the score came around. The freshness of fans actually talking on air and not being treated like idiots was perfect, that's what we all wanted for years. There was no bourgeois of Hub Arkush or Coppok, or Swirsky where you had to first kiss the call screeners ass and then the hosts ass. You just talked. And North Jiggs / Boers/McNeil were 2 different shows that were perfect for the type of fan you were. They were FRESH back then.

Now here's the Ironic part : we've gone full circle back to the late 80s pre-score days.

1.Norths' shit web show is basically your poor man's chet coppock show. It's all about having guests on, rambling on that youre a know it all and everyone else is wrong (like Coppock), and yes, TAKING NO PHONE CALLS!.

2.Guy's like Bernsie are basically you re modern day Swirsky's and Hub's where if you dare call and have an original fresh thought, you're labeled an idiot, just like WGN back in the 80s.

3.No more FRESHNESS. I think that's one thing North doesn't figure out. His act is old and run it's course. It's not 1996 but in North's mind it still is. People have moved on. Even the 'im the regular guy' shtick across american in radio has faded.

And north is incorrect about being an innovator. I think guys who went to Sat. radio are more innovators than North. But whatever medium, it comes down to the show being entertaining. Norths' show is so not entertaining. Compare it to a guy like Russo, who actually knows what hes talking about and has a passion for sports you can hear over the airwaves, now I'd pay for something like that. The only passion North has now is about his own ego.
