I wish he was...Jimmy Shorts & Kevin Matthews now work in Grand Rapids, MI, at the same radio station where Kev started his radio career circa 1978, classic rocker WLAV-FM. If you want a megadilldose of Kev & Jimmy anytime, check out www.kevhead.com or www.wlav.com. I miss those two, and it's terrible that they're not working in Chicago anymore! :x

Jim Shorts was the man in the late 80s/early 90s, but that act got lame fast. Mathews stuck around a little longer than he should have, but at least he made some cash out of it. The whole shtick sounds stupid now.

I guess since we've had topics on both, here's a mix of two :

Jim Shorts, Harry Carey (Volkman) doing the Cavalcade of Sports:

Classic Jim Shorts :

Part 1 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2p9bkVy ... =1&index=1

Part 2 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWdkkDo2 ... =1&index=2

Part 3 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAah1e0p ... annel_page

Part 4 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkIfdw1l ... annel_page

Part 5 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2emG_0U1 ... annel_page

And this dude has like 100's more Jim shorts classics here:

OMG those with Jim and Harry are priceless. I had to pull over one time driving when Jim and Harry were arguing.

Any radio geniuses see a theme yet?

I had a great compilation of Jim Shorts bits back in the day, 30 mins of Jim stuff. Was fabulous.

Those arguments were hilarious, as Harry kept butchering Jimmy's name along with Kev's...Besides, I remember when Jim did "The Cavalcade of Sports" for producer John Roach on the defunct SportsChannel...Talk about "Wayne's World, Wayne's World!"
