I only had the radio on for a min., but it sure sounded like Danny Mac on the Mike North Morning Show.

Interesting... I wonder what the higher-ups at 'MVP would think about that (though I suppose any original thought coming from them would be a first).

Mac mentioned this on MJH yesterday. He said that he had called Pastor in Orlando to discuss the possibility of going on someone elses airwaves to promote the show. He didn't say what station or what show though. I'm pissed I missed this, how was the segment? Did Mac really promote MJH on 670?

I only heard the tail-end of it. Lot of joking about the past when he worked at The Score. Wish I would have caught more of it. I didn't hear Mac promoting his show. After he hung up North just said "thanks Danny"... without saying who he was or where he is from.

it was him.

he called in to celebrate north's induction in the HOF.

the best part was where he started making fun of Murph (since murph was on right before him) doing the murph voice (a la terry) and saying "whattaya doin havin that guy on the air? dont you know he works for espn?"

otherwise, it was just "you remember when..." stories

Agreed. It was a classy move on Mac's part.

I didn't listen as usual. Did Pappy dedicate today's show to honor him self? Did that SOB line up guest after guest to kiss his ass. That's pathetic to me.

It was a good show Beardown. I think Rock lined up the guests and he deserves high praise for his work.

It was only an hour (8 o'clock) and I think Pappy was surprised. I only caught a bit of it. I heard Bebe, Jeff Schwartz and Buffone. I'm sure you can hear it all on the Score website or NorthtoNorth.com

I think North did the same for that big Mac anniversary show months ago (dont remember the milestone), well it was a voicemail that Mac played on the show

I also wish I had heard this. I've got to believe someone will leak out this segment for us to listen to.

I'm not a huge fan of Pappy and I really dont like Mac,so I didn't find it special. I was also wondering if they were mocking Harry at the end. Pappy said "say hello to the meowing one" or something to that degree and Mac started to laugh and meow like a cat. And at the end of the show when Pappy thanked all the guests, he seemed to appreciate Mac the most, saying alot of guys wouldn't have done what Mac did. And the whole thing was suppoused to be an hour but it went for two hours. It was the most self serving radio I had heard since Stern's last show on CKG. But Pappy seemed to be very thankful, he put his ego aside and thanked alot of people and seemed to be fairly emotional. Annie was brutal, as usual, creating several awkward moments...as usual. But Pappy gushing over Jen Jen is really strange, he thanked his wife several times but he kept going on and on about Jen, I kinda felt bad for pappy's wife.

According to the log on NorthtoNorth.com, here's who was part of the 2 hour tribute: Bebe North, Jeff Schwartz, Jesse Rogers, Doug Buffone, Terry Boers, Ron Gleason, Danny Lee, Dan Jiggets, Mike Murphy, Danny Mac, and Fritzy and Mikes Mom

Also, you can go there to watch the 20 minute video retrospective. I couldn't make it all the way through... www.northtonorth.com

i like how it was 'rock' that made the show good. forget about the 15 years of radio work that north and his friends did to make that show happen the other day

It was really good to get him on. I hate to take credit for it, Buch lined him up before he left....the whole concept was my idea and when asked who we should get on, Danny Mac had to be on the list. I'm glad he came on, real classy move from a classy guy. So, Mac I know you read the boards from time to time.....thanx again.

-Rock

That is not what was said, even in the quote you posted.
