• Looks like sports/talk WSCR-AM (670) bosses will be replacing Mike North's morning producer after all. Jen Patterson, who has been North's associate producer at the Score for the last two years, has been named interim executive producer.

The job has been up in the air since Steve Buchman left the CBS Radio station earlier this month.

Poor Rock can't catch a break

Interim can mean 1 of 2 things:

1) They are looking for someone to hire full time.

2) This is a test for her to hire her.

It also means: JEN cut in line in front of ROCK / so Rock will still get 25k & Jen will get 50k when they give it to her permanently!

This is old news. She has been interim since Buchman left. There was an extended thread about it and several people had advice for Rock.

Still *smacks* Rock right in the face

So if Jen gets the job will we hear Ryan Dempster and AJ every day for the next 2 years?

Let's also be very clear about this NOT being a good idea.

They got rid of Annie (Sort of) and thus leaving an opening to bring someone in that might be funny and inject a real personsality into the show and this is the next move?

Bring in E-Bev to run the production side of things.

Better yet, bring in T-Bev:

I like Jen on the air. I think if she can polish up some of her radio skills, she would be a great fit to replace Anne.

Anne seemed out of place in sports talk. I think she would fit better in a news format or an open forum station. It always felt like she was uncomfortable with Mike and Fred.

That's the whole problem though. The MNMS doesn't need someone who could still use some polish to his or her radio skills. They need talent now, not someone who is "just getting by." They already have enough of that!

A 50000 watt Chicago radio station reaching 38 states & Canada (and more via the always-broken internet stream) is not supposed to be the Columbia College radio 101 intern station WCRX. Then again, the bottom-feeding Score ratings usually put them in a tie with WCRX!
