Well, Fred knows that it's not his show...but he's on that show. He knows that his role is not to talk and give input. He's paid to be the harmless Ed McMahon to Mike's Johnny Carson. So he goes to work, bottles up his opinions, and waits until the weekend to express them.

The topic on today's White Sox weekly show brought up by a caller had to do with the importance of a manager.

Fred replies something to the effect of, I argue that point with Mike North all the time.

When has Fred EVER argued anything with Mike North??

The one time I heard Fred disagree with North, Mikey quickly repeated himself which prompted Fred to reply with a "yeah, you're right."

You guys say Fred can't disagree with Pappy. I think he chooses not to. Why the hell is Mitch holding an audition currently. Fred just doesn't have any thoughts and thinks he needs to toe the line to stay around. It's so weird Fred being there while people audition for his job. They are doing "his" updates. That's Fred's sole pupose. Plus the guys they bring in have thoughts. It's very humorous.

He is like the William H. Macy character in boogie nights.

I hope it doesn't end the same way for Fred.

I can imagine a picture of Fred hanging in the Score studio covering up the brain splatter.

Actually, I wasn't thinking of the suicide. I wouldn't wish that on anybody at either station. What I had in mind was a few scenes before that one...

And that is what I meant in my analogy. He has to sit back and watch while everyone else takes a turn at his job.

Figured as much, Dolphin, but just wanted to be clear. We may be harsh, but we're not psychotic...
