Often times, I think Pappy takes the less popular opinion because on the off chance that one of his predictions actually pans out, he can say "See, I said it all along." The problem is, Pappy is never even close to being right when he talks about who's good and who isn't.

On an unrelated note, how many players compared to Larry Bird since Bird retired, have actually met those expectations? We could probably start a separate thread and list all the players who were supposedly the next Larry Bird. From Tom Gugliotta to Keith Van Horn to whoever. Give it up folks...there hasn't and won't ever be another Larry Bird.
