Mike North was caught by surprise on the air Wednesday when the principal of Chicago's Senn High School, Rich Norman, showed up to announce that the school's baseball/softball field was being named in North's honor. Why did the unexpected tribute bring tears to his eyes? Before he was known as the morning star of CBS Radio sports/talk WSCR-AM (670), North attended the high school and worked at the field as a Chicago Park District employee.
