I am not a fan of any of them. I am 26 years old and find nothing about any of them to be funny, witty, educating, interesting, cool, new, entertaining and so on

I rarely listen to the Score anymore, unfortunate for me and them, because I love Chicago Sports and love hearing about it, which despite the allegations that Mike North NOW talks sports again, it's more like Mike North's Sports and everything he said would happen that did. As if he really does believe that he could coach any professional team?

If I do listen to the show for more than 15 minutes it is usually towards the very end of the show (waiting for real sports talk), as I know if there is 20 mins left, 12 minutes will be all the commercials that Mike didn't play because he had to tell us about his Night or day out with someone somewhere.

When I do hear this wreck, it reminds me of my parents, aunt and uncle sitting around telling inside jokes to each other and them being the only ones laughing- things that they think is fun and interesting to them, buit appeals to nobody else.

BearBoy, I think you're onto something there. I guess that's part of the reason I like listening to Drinky & Jason. They sound a bit closer to my age group, which is a welcome listen. I think folks like North, Fred, Annie, Boers, Murph, and even MJH just sound like a bunch of old farts with whom I have little or nothing in common. If the Score ever decided to go younger and shove the old guard to the backburner, I'd be all for it.

I respectfully disagree. It has nothing to do with age. It has everything to do with sucking. I was as big of a fan of Dahl & Meier as there is. They are 15-20 years older than I am. When I was 18, I had no problem being entertained by guys who were 34 and 39 at the time. Same goes for Johnny and Kev. Jackie Gleason said it best-funny is funny. The best example today of course is Stern. He has no trouble drawing the younger listener, and he's the same age as North. I will concede that North DOES act like he's 75 sometimes. He sounds like a combination of Wally Phillips and Eddie Schwartz with his psuedo Rat Pack/Connie Francis bullshit. Bottom line, it's idiot host + spineless co-hosts + bad conversation = shitty show.

I treat sports radio a bit different than I do music DJs and other talk show hosts. I don't have to be entertained in a comedic sense. I want to be engaged with good discussions on sports in general and specifically around my teams. If they are funny while doing it, that's fine but it's not a requirement. North doesn't engage me one iota on sports discussion. If there is anyone at the score that has that ability - it's Hanley and Mulligan.

I think the age gap doesn't help - listen to Mike's views on music. If it's anything since 1970, he hates it, and most likely has never heard of many of the top musicians of today....

Why are they talking music/movies/realestate/hotdog stands/dead actors exc?

MJH is guilty of this also. You're not my buddies/pal/brother. If I saw you in a bar I would check to make sure I wasn't in a gay bar and look for the ladies to buy THEM a drink.

When you look back at the "glory days" of north at the score when the monsters were together and compare it to the current north show you would hardly believe it was the same guy. The monsters show relied on callers to make the show. It was kind of like talking sports with guys at a bar. The regular callers were as big a part of the show as the hosts. North was just a passenger that added energy and levity to the subject of the day. Today when you hear him trying to drive the bus you realize that he is way out over his skis. A good strong partner would allow him to do what he does best. You are not going to learn anything from listening to the north show.

You're right Evilbob but I think it has to do with the big money some of these guys are making now. They think that because they make a mil a year their opinions are more important than the callers even if they know nothing about the subject (Boers, North). Back then it was about everyone and there was a sense of community it seemed with the sportsradio listeners. Now we have these overpaid windbags talking AT us instead of talking WITH us. North, Salisbury, and Boers are first on my mind with this.

Sports talk has jumped the shark, there is no anticipation of the something exciting happen. It all about the next segment: Crappin, thumbs up/down, tool of the week, jag bag, etc. It seems like the hosts are more interested in their next promo. The veterans are trying to recapture the excitement without putting the energy into being prepared and wanting to have a discussion with the callers. The best radio I have heard in a long time was when B&B had Telander on after his whiny column after being in the Bears locker room. It had tension and I felt like everyone (Boers, Berns, Telander, Holmes) was engaged in what was going on.

North and Murph to turn off younger listeners, not because they are over fifty, but because they deliberately attempt to date themselves. Stern can draw an audience because he does not feel the need to talk about Dean Martin or Elvis Presley (unless he is talking about midget Elvis strippers). Murph's show is almost reached the point where my ears bleed.

At least the "kids" (drinky, jason, lawerence) are still working on making talk radio interesting.

I will continue to listen, but I have scaled back my listen, the CD player is getting more of a work out these days.
