I grew up with Dandy Don, Gifford, and Cosell.

Turn out the lights the party's over.

I really enjoyed listening to the Monday Night Football broadcasts with Meredith, Cosell and Gifford. Not sure if this sentiment is similar to the board being better two years ago, or if they were truly better, but there you go.

I didn't realize the Bears drafted and traded Dandy Don.

So let me get this straight... we trade the Cowboys Don Meredith - and then they turn around several years later and trade us the pill-popping Golden Richards.

IT'S NOT FAIR!

I predict you will not only see Chris Berman and the "Monday Night Countdown" crew mention something about their former teammate during their pregame, but I think there will be a moment of silence before tonight's game in Dandy Don's memory.

Really? In New England?

Maybe if the game was being played in Dallas I'd buy into that moment of silence. I think all the fans should flip off the cameras all night long in honor of Dandy.

The Houston Oilers were sucking, and MNF was broadcasting yet another desultory beating. The camera panned around a half-empty Dome (the NFL would never allow such a thing now), catching dozens of bored fans. One threw a middle finger at the camera. "He's just saying the Oilers are number one," Meredith analyzed.

I thought that was NesTea? I don't know my tea advertising.

Tea is one of those things I get a hankerin' for every once in awhile, make it, drink some, and wonder what the hell is wrong with me for wanting some fucking "leaf water" in the first place.

I can't find it....but when Dandy was at SMU he was on the sidelines and an opponent was running down the sideline for a touchdown when Meredith stuck out is leg in attempt to trip the player ....I did say attempt.
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas
