the vince mc mahon of talk shows

he had a great run. The show was kind of like pro wrestling, if it were real, and it was to many, it was a grotesque reflection of society. But it was performance, meant intentionally to incite the passions. It was fun theater.

Do they still have shows like Jerry Springer on TV? Can't imagine so with the sensitivity to everything.

Reruns on WCIU on weekday mornings. It's like a block of old Springers, Steve Wilkos, and Maury. I watched the shit out of that back in December after I had shoulder surgery.

Geraldo deserves a spot up there. Not a daytime show but the one that got my brother and I interested in this format back in the late 80s was the Morton Downey Jr. Show.

jerry springer seemed like he was going to die in the 90s. why the hell did he keep doing that show? he actually liked doing it? was he grabbing cash to pass onto his kids or something?

Springer the times I caught his show seemed like he was being forced to host the show due to some karmic debt he owed.

I've never seen that and that is frickin hilarious.

Donahue wasn't a trash show. He had some very good shows talking social issues and politics.

Morton Downey was a great show because it was so out there. I never took it seriously but just for entertainment.

Lets not forget Howard Sterns tv show in the early 90s. That was some great shit with Underdog lady, KKK man, and so many other wild characters.
