Wow. that is really really sad. Unreal, the choices people make, and people around apparently can't or won't help. How sad.

They used to be compared back in the day, but for my money she beat Mariah Carey by a mile.

I do not like either one but I think Carey has a better range. Everybody raves that Houstons Anthem at the Superbowl was sooo good. Then it came out she prerecord it. Carey may be nuts but at least she seems more stable as she got older unlike Whitney.
Remember folks "Crack is wack"

Just talking about the signing. The Anthem might have been pre-recorded, but she still sang it. Carey might have better range, but Whitney's range was still phenomenal, and she had far more soul and emotion in her voice.

Crack killed her but before crack Whitney was clearly better IMO.

Maybe I'm just a heartless bastard but I really don't care. This isn't a sad day for me.

+1. I'm sure there's people that died today that are much sadder stories.

I may not like her music but she was and still is very doable.

Some things just matter more. A long time drug user dying isn't one of them.

Very unfortunate story.

Nas, you're a cold dude but I already kinda knew that anyway so it is what it is.

Is? It would be legally and morally unacceptable to be humpin around at this time.

If you were as old as me Nas, you would understand the importance of Whitney, Mariah, MTV and socks.

That's memories my friend.

I'm far from cold. I make no apologies for not worshipping these people who you all cry about. There are many other things I would rather be sad or cry about. I figured you were one of them Bez. Her death doesn't impact my life in any way. You made better music recently.

No need to be insulting, my friend. I'm not crying about anybody. I'm just expressing the opinion that I think it's unfortunate when a 48 year old dies, regardless of whether or not the damage was self-inflicted.

Michael Jackson was a drug addict too. I still found his death to be unfortunate.

But I do appreciate the compliment on the music. Thank you man.

<<<,44 to be 45 next week.

I remember MTV the good old days when they played music videos and it was fun to watch. I remember when Remote control debuted. I so was in love with both Marisol Massy and Kari Whurl.

I'm not being insulting but I'm amazed how many people are clueless about things that are going on in the world break down when a celebrity dies. I saw someone post that they still hadn't recovered from MJ's death and now they have to deal with this. I had someone in my family send me a text saying they loved me because she died.

I blame Kevin Costner. Wasn't he supposed to be her bodyguard?

I hear you and I also think that kind of behavior is crazy, but I don't think anybody here is doing that. You might be projecting a little bit.

I remember when Elvis died, the entire country was in mourning. I can only imaging what it was like when JFK got killed.
