Can't wait to hear Julie DiCaro's take on this. Sad to see so many literally celebrating his death (*cough* Gawker *cough*) because of their difference in political views, completely glossing over his passion and staunch reasoning.

You all are giving his "reasoning" too much credit. Unless you want to compliment him on being great at making up a decision in his mind and doing legal gymnastics to find a way to justify it, then yeah, he's the best.

He was definitely a clever legal writer 20 years ago. Last 5-10 years were a solid argument against lifetime appointments. Hard to imagine that fucker went down easily. You know he had 1/21/2017 circled on his calendar.

Doesn't matter, there's a 0% chance there's a nomination this term.

He's dead now.

You can read some of his actual opinions or just continue to regurgitate what you read somewhere else.

Interesting take but I would be surprised if he wanted the work load.

How long will Thomas live since he just goes along with whatever Scalia does?

Attended a dinner with Scalia once. As much as I disagreed with his opinions, he was charming and lovely. Really fun to be around.

Wasn't expecting this touch of class from her. Maybe she's salvageable yet?

Why does CNN have a live shot of the Supreme Court building?

Do they think it is just going to spontaneously catch fire?

I liked the ones where he communicated his dissenting opinion by stomping around like a little baby and brow beating the other Justices.

So, still you have no actual opinions for yourself. And now need resort to lies and character attacks.

Weak. Even by your standards.

Honestly he is a prime example of why our nation was so much greater during the 200 years in which we didn't allow Catholics near positions of power.

I actually agree with Scalia on the last bit...

"[A job] interviewer may refuse to offer a job because the applicant is a Republican; because he is an adulterer; because he went to the wrong prep school or belongs to the wrong country club; because he eats snails; because he is a womanizer; because she wears real animal fur;or even because he hates the Chicago Cubs."

Not likely but Obama needs to give it a few weeks and then nominate an extremely qualified moderate and let the Republicans reveal their inner shitness. The chances that Ted Cruz or any of the other nominees would let something like this pass are zero.

Yes my opinion I gave on Scalia wasn't my own. By that logic your first post must not be your own opinion either.

Preferably a minority just to take it up a notch.

It will be great for the avowed Constitutionalists to avoid making an appointment.

Not sure he even has a law license anymore.

And there is no way he is going to give up the speaking engagements for cash and work that hard.
