The problem with DB pensions is the financial strain on the sponsors. All three major sponsor groups have experienced problems- corporate plans, Union multi employer plans, and government plans. They are not sustainable.

Hate to say it but the failure of Corporate America to deliver on their MANY promises ain't exactly the fault of the pension collectors. When I was much younger I was told that the 401k was the way to go. Apparently until it wasn't I suppose.
