Don't kid yourself.

They are still plenty relevant around these parts.

Ok, but in the vein of cook county regular Democratic committemen and crooked businessmen. Only as relevant as their crooked lawers and kept politicos. In other words, republicans .

Not hardly.

They pull the levers of power where the money is in this state. That means Springfield and Chicago. Both firmly not in the hands of any Republican.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker releases $23.5 billion multiyear transportation plan for upcoming road projects throughout Illinois

The Outfit will get a cut of every single dollar of that $23.5 B.

Never ran into Lombardo as he was in prison when I was growing up in Elmwood Park. I have some other stories though. Best one was in seventh grade when one day my best friend called and said his girlfriend disappeared. I'm like, what the hell do you mean she disappeared. Later on we found her dad had turned informant and she had gone into the witness protection program.

Maybe that's why Commissioner Daley works so hard to stay out of the public eye.

That's why I opened this thread.

I never crossed paths with the man but I have seen his right hand guy several times at La Scarola. He's not someone I'd want to mess with. I'm not even gonna mention his name. Rumor has it he's the real guy running the Outfit right now.

Sal D? He's numba 2

In name maybe, but he's very old. The guy I'm talking about supposedly runs the show.

And now?

I don't think that JORR wants to publicly mention his name or he would have done it. Maybe you can have the conversation via PM.

My ex Girlfriend from years ago family was "mobbed" up. Dad was a 100% Sicillian. I remember once holding a discussion with him about things that i'd read regarding the mob as around that time i used to read books on it.

I remember him telling that the guys that were often times promoted by the media as "bosses" really were not in fact.

Claimed that there were invisible hands that really ran things and the guys portrayed by the media were really just for show if there was ever going to be heat. I always wondered if that was in fact the truth

Once joked to me that he told Tony Accardo's right hand man to go "fuck himself". And i thought to myself "and you lived to tell about it"

Lol
