OK so what else kills two people and a dog in the middle of the night with no signs of “foul play”? Poisoned ?

Maybe the dog did it, felt guilty and decided to end things.

Maybe some kind of suicide pact where they all made the decision to go together, dog included.

A heater fell on her head and killed her. Dog was trapped in the bedroom with her. 95 yr old Gene fell down and could not get up. Two weeks later, found.

Hackman collapses, dies for some reason that will be determined. Wife finds him. Distraught. Decides to off herself with pills. Maybe dog is freaking out. She puts it in the closet. Dog eventually dies from starvation. She remains in the bathroom until pills kick in and she goes unconscious and her hitting the floor knocks the space heater to the ground next to her

Occam’s razor. It will still end up being carbon monoxide. They were dead for quite awhile and the gas was gone before they were found.

Hoosiers. It’s a shame he’s not around to see the Luka/Reaves/Knecht Lakers. I’ll always remember him for his role in the Oscar winning film Heartbreakers, a movie better known for its scenery than his turn as a wealthy, albeit congested tobacco baron. RIP.

Also - wife was 32 years younger than him and married him when she was 29 and he 61. She hung around for a pay day that never came. RIP.

Yeah she lived a life of toil and poverty

Jennifer Love Hewitt?

That was a conscious choice intended to reflect character growth.

1. I think they said unknown carbon monoxicide poisining ruled out.

2. So you think mutal agreement of both to commit suicide is the next guess. They found empty bottle of pills. And they figured OD the dog as well since nobody would be there to take care of him.

3. He was 95. So I can see why he would want out. She was 30 years younger. Why would she agree? Why wouldn't she want his money to live the rest of her life.

4. Another possibility. He wanted out. Didn't want her to live without him. Drugged her first. Then drugged the dog. Then drugged himself. Boom. All 3 out.

That being said, he was an amazing actor. I was introduced to him for the first time in Hoosiers. My Jr. High basketball coach made all of us watch it at a practice. Practiced canceled. He had the TV and VCR at the back of the gym. Loved that movie. Perfect age to see it for the first time.

Mississipi Burning and Crimson Tide awesome as well. I've always heard about French Connection. I've never seen. Gonna make it a point to watch it at some point.

This was a bad ass scene in Crimson Tide. Hackman and Denzel were both awesome. The entire thing is good. Go to 5:30 if you want to see the best of it.

Then Hoosiers. Ending obviously cool. But 3:50 is the flash black to the initial speech he gave to the team when he first met them.

If you’ve ever wondered what those actresses faces must’ve looked like when Harvey Weinstein was doing his thing, just look at Barbara Hershey’s mug when Hackman kisses her in Hoosiers

more and more puzzling. early results from autopsies:

- reveal no carbon monoxide in either body.

- hackman's pacemaker records his last event on feb. 17, and that was most likely his last day alive.

Yeah. You're probably right for that scene. He was probably 20 years older then her at the time. But it wasn't like Barbara Hershey was some super model. Hackman had better then her in his younger days.

And to compare him to Weinstein as far as being uncomfortable? No. Hackman was a decent guy and it was scripted. Not the casting couch like it was with Weinstein.

So there's a few books that tell the story of that team, and one of them is fantastic:

I don't know why, but this story frustrates me that it's not solved.

I heard a new theory by somebody on youtube that makes sense.

1. He was having a heart attack or some sort of episode.

2. She went to the bathroom to get pills for him. That's why they found her with pills scattered on the floor.

3. Before she did that she locked up the dog in it's cage because he was bothering him while he was down. That's why the dog died of starvation/dehydration.

4. Then, in her stress, she actually had a heart attack too. And she died.

What I hate about this story is they both had kids. They both and friends and family And nobody called/texted them in 7 to 10 days. Nobody called them? No alarm bells were raised in 7 to 10 days? I hate hearing that. That bothers me.

truth is awful.

I'm assuming that he wandered around his house for a week not even knowing who/where/what was going on, while his wife decomposed and the dog howled to get out of it's crate. Both of their families should get lethal injection.
