Sad day. It is a shame he did not get into the HOF while alive to enjoy it. One of the greatest of all time.

This is one of the things that pisses me off about Vince. He has been too petty and vindictive to put Macho in the HOF while he's alive. Now that he's dead, he'll have the widow on speed dial, and he'll do this glorious tribute to him about how much the WWE "Universe" loved him. If he had died from a drug overdose, this might not have happened. Since it was natural causes (though probably brought on by steroid/drug abuse. Shhh!) the WWE machine will crank out another 3 disc DVD set, with teary interviews and analysis. The DVD they put out before kinda buries him, as he loses a majority of the matches, and it's hosted by my friend, albeit wrestling clueless friend Maria, and Matt Striker who tries, but Maria is by her own admission, clueless about wrestling history.

More people are chiming in on the untimely demise of Randy "Macho Man" Savage. When asked for comment, George Jung was saddened, but scoffed at the use of the word untimely. "Untimely, Randy was a friend back in the day, but come on." "Pablo used to call him El Gringo Macho Loco." "Randy used to laugh, thinking Pablo would mispronounce Macho." "But Pablo was calling him Mansión, short for El Número de la mansión Tres." "Randy didn't know it, but he personally funded Pablo's third mansion."

I don't get why he scoffs at the word untimely. Did he expect this to happen?

Due to the large amounts of cocaine ingested during the 80's, I believe he expected it around that time. I could call back and ask?

Great couple of promos here following Macho Man's victory over Ric Flair at WM. You get Mr. Perfect, Flair, Heenan and Macho Man.

No. I understand what he means now. Cocaine is a helluva drug. :(

The Greatest Alumni of North of all-time. I went to North and Randy Poffo is in the athletic hall of fame there. He looks like a nerdy, pencil dick in his picture on the plaque. They should replace it with one of his wrestling photos.

Little known fact: drafted and played in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system before turning to wrestling.

This is a golden mult opportunity, even if it only pops up to say OOOOH YEAH in agreement with the status quo.

Is it official that the heart attack and not the car-wreck killed him? I think his wife/girl/etc walked away with minor injuries?

My dad asked if I want to put the Randy Savage "Wrestling Buddy" in the attic on ebay.

I spent most of tonight chilling on the deck with my brother reminiscing about Macho Man Randy Savage.

Drinking beer, talking about childhood heroes. Glorious.

As I'm watching The Patriot, it has figurative examples of why I hate this board M-F.

I agree sometimes. However let us take this discussion to the Drinky board so as not to sully the memory of the Macho Man.

Lots of good footage here in this tribute.

Been watching over some of his old matches. My goodness the matches he had with Ricky Steamboat and Jake Roberts back in the day were classics.

Indeed, I enjoy the wrestling geek debate on if Savage-Steamboat WMIII or Savage-Warrior WMVII was Savage's best match. Is a having a 5* match against one of the best wrestlers of a generation as impressive as getting a 5* match out of an average at best in-ring performer like The Ultimate Warrior?
