I guarantee if you did forensics on this, you would find multiple owners at various times in history pulling out money and letting the company get levered up. This company merged multiple times, went public, private, public, private...what a mess. Lot of people got rich along the way. Private equity groups, investment bankers, etc. Meanwhile, the pension plan was never funded properly.

NOW we blame the UNIONS! what a joke. Lots of food companies deal with unions, yet do not have the huge consumer following HOSTESS products.
