This guy looks like someone the Bears would hire to be GM.

He looks like they're holding him in solitary confinement and they only let him out to do press conferences.

He looks like a guy who was hired as press secretary by an egomaniacal president and hasn't slept in weeks due to the impending doom and sense of dread that he feels.

The job is inherently adversarial (especially these days)--you can't take it personally. Everyone has a job to do. Looks like ssphincter@whitehouse.gov was not copied on that memo.
