You guys can pound Northie on all angles but this guy is taking Jessie Jackson to task (live on his show) and on all angles. He's asking Jessie tough questions and challenging him on everything from the Duke case to Imus and race issues.

I repect Jessie very much but Mike is making Jessie look a little one sided on his race issues . Jessie stance on the Duke case was a joke . Mike asked why Jessie came to the aid of the girl and wanted the 3 white kids in jail before the case went to trail and Jessie started to back peddle and say the girl should not have to dance to pay for a college education and that the Duke boy's should be ashamed to hire females to dance for them . This coming from a man who got a girl pregnet and had a child out of wedlock and tried to pay her hush money to keep it quiet .

I love the things that Jessie does but admit when your wrong at times.

The only thing I can really say for Jesse Jackass is that he will do interviews with people on opposing sides. He's done Hannity's show a few times, and North is opposite of him as well. I heard about 4 minutes of the interview, and hopefully they put it up on the site so I can hear the rest.

Other than that, Jackson is a race baitor, and I disagree with nearly everything he says.

Agreed BD, but it was good radio hearing Mike go after the REV.

Overall, well done Mikey. Compelling and rich.

He always seems to read emails mocking Annie. When she was out last week he read a bunch saying to put her on permanent vacation, stay home, etc.

My hatred towards North diminished slightly after that, well done. I liked him saying he now reports to Jessie and Al instead of the FCC.

I appreciate Northy's willingness to get in, mix it up, and confront Jackson on some controversial issues. I just wish he would get all his ducks in a row before he brings them up.

He was talking about "exclusive" footage that others had about Jackson's comments but couldn't really express what those comments were. I would expect, if he really wanted to confront him, that he would get this information, have the actual quotes in front of him, and use them, rather than make sketchy reference to "comments". I know it's being naive to think Mike would have stacks of research and material in front of him.

THAT BEING SAID, it was still entertaining. I know it's Mike style to be "conversational" rather than taking an investigative reporter angle. So, I won't really criticize him too harshly for this lack of prep. It was still good radio.

now we get to hear north pat himself on the back for the next two weeks. sure he asked tough questions, but he did not follow up when jesse gave vague answers, and then typical north, at end of interview he acts like jesse's best friend. if north thinks imus should be fired because of a pattern of statements, then he needs to look in the mirror. and mike also had to make the statement that he hires the most black producers and female producers, its called token hires

that is exactly why my comment said diminished a little.

If there's anybody I'd expect North to take to task it's Jessie Jackson, because I think North is racist trash. In that respect while it may make for an interesting listen, North may be right about what he said, and Jackson may certainly deserve getting grilled, it's nothing I'd give North kudos for.

I agree completely...kind of like giving a murderer kudos for slicing up a fellow murderer.

I've gone on record as saying I think North is a usually a pretty good interviewer. However, I was not overly impressed with the Jessie interview this morning. IMO, Mike was all over the map with his line of questioning and seemed in a rush to respond. It reminded me of the daily arguments he has with Annie in which he uses red herring examples to prove his point. I'll give him props for getting Jessie on given the circumstances, but I was mildly disappointed with the results.

Caught some of the interview on the crapper this morning. Thought Mike was excellent until…

Something to that effect. Mike, gimme a break. You don’t have to confront the guy as a hypocrite while he’s on the air with you, but it was pretty obvious that those are YOUR beliefs. Don’t hide behind your rich white neighborhood. Just come out and say it.

The rev may be a douche, but he's not a hypocrite on this one, Spinnin'. The rev will never stand up for any white person who has been discriminated against nor as he ever claimed that he would. Not in his job description.

I’m not injecting my opinion on Jesse one way or the other. I was just saying that it appeared North wanted to call him out, but didn’t want to take ownership of the argument he was making.

I didn't hear the whole thing, but the part I heard wasn't very good. North asked tough questions, but didn't give Jackson much of a chance to respond, didn't follow up on Jackson's vague statements, and was somewhat rushed and/or incoherent at several crucial points.

I'm also surprised to hear people think it was an accomplishment to make Jackson seem "one-sided" on race issues. He's Jesse freakin' Jackson. He has devoted his life to fighting racial discrimination against blacks, which he sees as one of the fundamental social problems in the U.S. Are you guys shocked when the sky looks blue or the sun rises in the East, too?
