Not much sympathy for people who kill themselves and leave young kids behind.

I figured the cause of death would be something else with him...like food poisoning after eating a snake’s heart or raw duck egg with the embryo/feathers.

There's just no way this life he had of travel and leisure could leave him legitimately depressed. Sorry, doesn't make sense. Don't @ me with "depreshun is a dizeeze STUPID AMERICA"--dude had a great life.

Obviously, you've never been close to someone with depression or bipolar. But your response surprises no one I am sure.

Just the other night I watched his documentary on food waste. It was very powerful. I told myself I wanted to start watching and reading more of his stuff. This sucks

He did once say that every day was a battle between two selves to keep himself from sitting around smoking weed and playing video games all day. I think a lot of people relate to that.

Whenever I order Steak Frites I think of him, as it was the signature dish at his restaurant.

Clearly that is not a well thought out reply from America. However, 'the life of travel' lead it self to him having some money. Now money clearly doesn't buy happiness, but it can buy therapy, rehab, counseling, and number of other mental health related items that might help that you, or I, or America might not have access too.

He had an 11 year old and Kate Spade had a 13 year old. Divorce, depression bipolar, substance abuse, whatever. Those people should have been doing everything they possibly could for their children. Its clear they didn't.

You could have also communicated your ideas here simply by posting, "I'm an ignorant asshole."

Was watching the Big Short on a plane ride this week. I think he had that part about how to use three day old fish as an example of mortgage pool securitizations. I liked that scene.

As soon as jules drags her ass out of bed you can all count on her comparing her mental health issues to his. If only Bourdain would have DM'ed her.... and heeded her warning.

My impression is that there are a lot of successful people who reject God and the purpose he gives to each person's life. A world without God is essentially a world without meaning.

Yeah, but it's balanced out by the shorter lines at Costco on Sunday morning!

Think about his friends and family who have to live on, not the selfish prick who did it.
