It'll be a rough weekend at Tipitina's, that's for damned sure.

We saw him at Summerfest in Milwaukee many years ago. He put on a great show. Seemed like a genuinely nice guy too.

Reminds me of that show Trapper John, MD, which, as a twelve year-old, lied outside my interests, but was also broadcast during the Evil Hour (Sunday night at 9 pm). Those nights just sucked when you were in school--until, of course, I discovered Monty Python.

Had no idea that the guy who played Trapper John was a former studly actor. He was on one old cowboy show (I can't remember which one), but he did guest star (successfully, I might add) on The Virginian once.

Wasn't Trapper John supposed to be the character from MASH?

Yep. Saw him circa 1990 when the Leinie Lodge was nothing but a tent. Dr. John and Buckwheat Zydeco in those days were amazing shows.

Dude was a legend.

Nominally, I guess? The characters were nothing like one another. I never understood that.
