What are the chances Trump acknowledges his death and life in any sort of human way?

I'm sad to say that I can still remember the Alan Brady song.

I thought he was ancient when I watched reruns of the DVD show in the late-70s. I was shocked to learn he was still alive in the 1980s and 1990s.

Assuming you mean the one from the Christmas episode, we watch that every year. Classic.

Yes, that's it.

I haven't seen that easily in 30 years and I still can remember it.

Anyone ever think when they were watching the DVD show that Reiner was only 4 years older than Dick ?

I was a Laura Petrie fan and when stretch pants like that in the late 80s/90s I would call them Laura Petrie pants.

Yep, although the episode where she confessed to being only 17 when she married Rob was a bit uncomfortable.

Ironically Carl Reiner was the original Rob(bie) Petrie in the pilot "Head of the Family".

If you have Netflix, watch the Comedians in Cars with Carl and Mel Brooks.

This has gotta be very tough for Mel.

I have no idea what anything in this thread is referring to. That's not meant to be some sort of insult. Carl Reiner was Meathead's father, right?

DVD is 98. Still going strong.

I always thought he use to get tons of women even w his squeaky clean image.

Rose Marie just died like 2 years ago. She lived a long life too.

The guy who played Mel was suppose to be one of the most closeted Hollywood personalities. Forgot the book about it. It was very good. Poor guy died young.

I’ve expressed my opinion here before that the Dick Van Dyke Show is a landmark television comedy, from which you can trace many current and historic tv landmarks. The timing, the writing and precise execution of those two elements is amazing. But of all my favorite Dick Van Dyke’s, the one’s that are most satisfying are the one’s featuring Alan Brady (Carl Reiner). Here are my top performances in this show, which was only a slice of what the man produced (e.g. 2000 Year Old Man, Your Show of Shows)

Alan Brady Dick Van Dyke Episodes

5b.When a Bowling Pin Talks, Listen” Rob inadvertently steals material from a competitor
5a. “The Gunslinger” an odd, series finale that has a dream sequence where Alan Brady is the bad guy in Western take-off
5. Goes over the top as an intellectual that can’t be understood in the very funny, yet underrated “I’m No Henry Walden”
5. Three Letters From One Wife…classic writing…even though you don’t see him much, his presence looms
4. The Bottom of Mel Cooley Heart…he doesn’t get much meaner, or funnier
3. A Day In The Life of Alan Brady-Just hilarious, and still really holds up well. A forced documentary on Reiner…maybe the influence to his son’s Spinal Tap?) Really worth the watch, esp. the last scene
2. Baby Fat-Single funniest DVD episode ever. Ever. (“Buck Brown the cowboy star? Hardly?)
1. Coast-to-Coast Big Mouth…last 15 minutes is some of the best comedy ever

I wanted to provide a taste of this last one, but it seems to have been pulled…I’ll try to update
