Are we sure he's dead? All we have to go on is that instagr!n post and every headline article saying someone at his record label Rhymesayers says its true... but you know this is announcing he died on Halloween, so he's been dead for 2 months and nobody noticed or said anything?

This is the supervillain after all. He used to have other ppl don mf doom masks and lip sync at his shows, so couldn't this be some kind of marketing stunt? I guess we'll find out if a new album drops this year.

I went through a serious DOOM phase from 2005ish to 2008 or so.

The dude had an interesting history with him and his brother’s album “Black Bastards” being banned for the cover art way back in the early 90s.

By all accounts his brother was the superior MC.

When he died in a car accident a few years later it made DOOM leave the spotlight all together.

It was remarkable how he reinvented himself as a mask wearing underground hip hop rapper in the early 2000s.

His following was immense, and his wordplay undeniable.

He was so innovative with his song concepts.

The guy made a whole album using food as metaphors.

My favorite song of his was a story about a time traveling crack dealer.

Equally creative and hilarious.

I haven’t kept up over the years, but I’ll always respect his body of work.
