Or go to any other local taqueria and 97% of the time, you will end up with better food and a less expensive bill.

Uncle Julio's is atrocious. I'm glad it's dead.

Agreed. I think it caters to people who have limited exposure to Mexican food or just go for the gimmicks like the chocolate pinata.

My kids loved the piñata. Food is okay, service and margaritas are always good. It's not authentic but fine for what it is. We usually end up at the one in Lombard once a year.

I'm surprised it lasted this long, but it was perfectly placed in an area populated with people from other places who would be afraid to go to a small mexican restaurant.

I'm not above making a run to the border and eating gringo mexican food once in a while.

Why is this thread turning into a forum for people to congratulate themselves for eating Mexican food?

Let's meet at Fat Rosie's. I want to see Spaulding in a giant sombrero.

There are so many great Mexican places around, I do not know why anyone would go to a chain. My niece lives in San Diego and loves to come back home because she said the Mexican food in California is all highfalutin' garbage.

Great question.

We missed you at lunch yesterday.

We did not eat Mexican.

Only if dolphin attempts to eat the EL PATRON GORDO BURRITO in 12 minutes. There is one in Naperville. I think we went a long long time ago, it was okay from what I remember. We usually end up at Yerbabuena, Cabanita Señor, or Mago. I loved Lalo's but too far.

The photo of Spicy Senorita was better.
